It’s Freezing! Is this Alabama or Alaska?

Gulf Shores / Orange Beach, Alabama is freezing – literally. The area is experiencing the coldest weather it’s seen in decades and, perhaps it’s because of the Holiday Season, but everyone is reveling in it. Multiple nights of below freezing weather coupled with coastal winds that make it feel like it’s in the teens.
A quick reference to Weather.com and you will see that it is officially colder on the Alabama Gulf Coast than it is in Valdez, Alaska.
Today, Thursday, January 07, 2010 we just may see snow on the beautiful white sugar sand beaches we call home…we’ll keep you updated and post pictures if we’re lucky enough to see it happen.
After this, we’ll be ready for the excitement to end and the normal 70 degree winter weather we all know and love to kick in.

Like they say, “If you don’t like the weather in Alabama, wait 5 minutes.” Today was exactly that. Chilly this morning and a gorgeous afternoon.

It looks like we live in Alabama today! It is beautiful outside and inching towards warmer weather by the end of the week – highs in the 70s! The Gulf Coast is a wonderful place to live all year ’round!
