Whether you are a fan of classic rock, country music or contemporary music, the Pepsi Star Series concerts this summer at The Wharf have been great so far.
Things got off to a rocking start in March with ZZ Top, then Better Than Ezra, Sister Hazel and The Spin Doctors played during spring break.
Widespread Panic hit Orange Beach in April, and then Hank Williams, Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd (pictured below) and all their Rowdy Frynds played a rocking concert in May.
Hair gel and torn jeans were in vogue June 15 as Poison and Ratt played old favorites and new material, and Steve Miller will take the stage tonight.
Country music stars Montgomery Gentry will kick things off in July and the Mobile Symphony will be a part of the July 4 Fireworks extravaganza.
More country music and classic rock will round out this year’s Pepsi Star Series. Reigning Academy of Country Music’s Male Vocalist of the Year Brad Paisley, American Idol’s Kelly Pickler, Jack Ingram and Taylor Swift will rule country in Orange Beach August 11. August 17 will be the final show of the season as veteran rockers The Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton share the stage in what will be a night to remember.
The lineups, sound and overall experiences this year have been great, and we’re looking forward to more great music next year.

The Amphitheater at the Wharf is a wonderful music venue. Catering to all tastes of music, the Amphitheater has hosted a variety of acts for nearly everyone to enjoy. Montgomery Gentry will headline a show on July 3rd. The Amphitheater will also host “4th at the Wharf” on July 4th. Coming in August is Brad Paisley, a show that is sure to be a sellout. Just announced, The Black Crowes will be setting the Wharf ablaze with their high octane Southern Rock. Opening for the Crowes are the North Mississippi All Stars, one of my personal favorites. I will not be missing out on this show.
