Foley Defeats Daphne 16-14

Foley wins 16-14 in a come-from-behind, high school nailbiter.  Last night was the first time in 10 years that the Foley Lions defeated the Trojans of Daphne High School.

Senior wideout Julio Jones turned in a stellar performance last night with over 100 yards receiving and 2 touchdown catches.  One of the nation’s top recruits, Jones was able to pile up receiving yards despite facing double and triple coverages all night long.

The Foley defense held strong, limiting Auburn-signee Reggie Hunt to only 32 yards rushing on 15 carries.  Foley’s defense focused on minimizing Hunt’s impact after he torched them last year for over 300 yards on the ground.

There is no doubt that Julio put on a show in front of a national audience.  As to where he will enroll next fall – it is anyone’s guess.  LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama and USC have all shown significant interest in the 6′ 4″, 215 lb. receiver from Foley, AL.  He will probably keep people guessing until signing day.
