Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

kaiserzoo.jpg

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is tucked away just blocks from the beach and is home to more than 290 animals. Lions, tigers, bears, camels, monkeys and macaws are just some of the creatures that inhabit this Gulf Coast oasis. There’s also a petting zoo, reptile house, aviary and daily animal shows in the summer. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and its struggle to survive against the forces of nature became the subject of a prime-time 2006 television series for Animal Planet’s “The Little Zoo That Could”. As a result of the series, the zoo has gained International recognition and is as much of a destination as it is an attraction.Truly a must-see in Gulf Shores!
