Best sushi in town! I had the banana leaf wrapped fish and would go back just for that! This restaurant made me feel like I was on vacation.

Great atmosphere and the sushi is great! You can sit outside on the deck and listen to live entertainment- or dine inside for a quiet, relaxing dinner for two!

My wife and I went to Cosmo’s last night for a friend’s birthday. Sitting outside on the deck, we sat among friends and took in the wonderful atmosphere, including the live music that permeated the air. I started the night with a cold Red Stripe and Cosmo’s firecracker shrimp, a true spicy delight. After shrimp and sushi, the entrees arrived. I ordered the blackened Cobia, while Shannon had the Anti-pasta salad. Everything was great, especially the Cobia! Cosmo’s is a great choice for sushi and seafood lovers.

Last week, I had the filet stuffed with feta. It was great, but come hungry. One of the best restaurants in the Gulf Shores area. Definitely a cool mix of great food and an original atmosphere.

Cosmo’s has it all-great food, great drink & a great atmosphere. Indoor & outdoor seating, makes it great rain or shine. The seared tuna with salad is fantastic. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. My only wish would be to have white grapefruit on the beverage menu!!!!!!

We took the whole brood to Cosmo’s to celebrate Mother’s Day Sunday. All I can say is that it was great. We started out with a couple of their sushi selections – a tuna nigiri roll and something that really caught my eye – a fried green tomato BLT roll. The less adventurous of our crew stuck to the BLT roll – which for the record was very good. Only a couple of us tried the tuna roll – which was fine because it left more for me. The only complaint – if you can call it that – was that the tuna roll had a very small pice of tuna in it and the size of the roll was proportional to the tuna. However, they only charge $5 for the roll, so all-in-all I was satisfied.
We had entrees ranging from my dad’s fried seafood platter (He said it was the best seafood platter he had ever had down here – and he’s been here for 72 years!) to the muffaletta pasta (very interesting for a maffaletta afficianado!) to the crab cakes (the servers maintain there is no breading in their crab cakes, and after tasting one, I think I agree. No breading is a rarity in these parts.). Others in the party had the softshell crab plate and the chicken roulade. I didn’t try them so I can’t comment personally, but both plates were cleaned by the end of the night.
We ended our celebratory dinner with a couple orders of the banana fritters that we all shared. Leave it to us in the south to find ways to deep-fry fruit and make it taste wonderful. By the looks on some faces we should have ordered a third fritter. We’ll know better next time.
All-in-all, it was a great night with great food celebrating a great mother. A perfect combination.

I wouldn’t return to this restaurant if it I was lit afire and they had the only remaining pool of water in all of Alabama. While there were a few high points as far as the food went (which were appetizers brought to us personally by the manager because of being verbally abused by the male bartender while waiting) the entrees were under seasoned and boring. If you enjoy abuse from the wait staff and eating mediochre seafood then this place is right up your alley.

We had a wonderful – albeit HOT dinner here – We should have waited until inside seating was available, but with hungry kids on hand, we ate outside. The food was FAB. Crab Claws were the best – the Creole Butter mmmmmm. The seafood pasta was excellant, and my chicken roulade – FANTASTIC. Very different than anything I’ve eaten, and I want it AGAIN!!!

  9. Dawn Says:

One of the best restaurants on the island! (Yes, I am a local and should know) The stuffed chicken roulade is my favorite (Chicken breast flatten, stuffed with grilled asparagus and rolled with Applewood Bacon & covered with a Cream Leak Sauce). I always ask for extra sauce! Gumbo is great, salads are not ordinary. Highly recommend!

I went to Cosmos last night with a few friends, some of which are from our area and some here visiting. We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly!! It was a little chilly outside last night, but as we walked through to go inside to set you could feel the warmth of the outside heaters they had going for outside seating pleasure.

  11. Harry Says:

My wife and I (locals) had dinner here this evening. The crab cakes were great. The service was excellent despite the large crowd and we were not hurried as often happens during the tourist season. Loretta ( I hope she sees this) our waitperson was excelent.
We are looking forward to returning.
