Yesterday, a there was a rare sight on West Beach. This alligator was seen trying to catch a wave in Gulf Shores, AL.

    Sorry for the late reply. I was waiting to find out where this photo was taken. It was approximately 3.5 miles west of Hwy. 59.

    are there aligators in that region, we used to make vacation in that region and a little bit of shocked to see a gator at the beach, can you comment this

    Hello Dean,
    Alligators inhabit much of the area along the Gulf Coast. However, it is very rare to see them on the beach or in the Gulf waters. They typically stay near the marsh areas around our back bays. Don’t be alarmed. We posted the photo because it is something we rarely if ever see in this area.

    Thank you for the information. We watch out a little more when walking in the dark, i thought shark are nasty but this beats it.
