poland-resizedThe 6th Annual John L. Borom Alabama Coastal Birdfest is set for October 15-18 at the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center on the Causeway between Mobile and Spanish Fort, and registration is now open. Expertly guided tours will take beginner and advanced bird watchers along the 250 mile Alabama Coastal Birding Trail.  The Alabama Gulf Coast areas of Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have become very popular destinations for eco-tourism. The natural beauty and wildlife in our area is just another great reason to visit.

Opening the festivities will be a presentation by Kathy Hicks, a birder, photographer and graphic designer. Following the presentation, participants are invited to the James P. Nix Center in Fairhope for music, seafood, barbeque, a live auction and more.

Birdfest tours are scheduled for Fort Morgan, Bayou La Batre, Mobile, Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Dauphin Island, and this year’s newest location, Orange Beach. According to John Borom, chairmain of the 3 day event, 19 guided tours are available, and they are now taking reservations.
