United Way of Baldwin County 2011 Kick Off Luncheon

This year’s United Way of Baldwin County Campaign season started with a bang as businesses and charities around Baldwin County came together to celebrate community, friendship and the power of giving.
Led by Leon Hill, Chairman, United Way of Baldwin County, the Luncheon featured an Invocation by St. Paul’s Reverend, Thack Dyson followed by a nice rendition of the National Anthem by the St. Paul’s Choir. Amy Johnson, a sophomore at Gulf Shores High School, gave a beautiful testimonial of how becoming involved, especially as a young person, has changed her life for the better and allowed her to influence others in a positive way as well.
The guest speaker, Auburn Football Superstar, Quentin Riggins, spoke about what he knew best, football. After years as a sideline journalist, Quentin’s analysis of the game, teams and coaching is unparalleled and his point of view on the SEC for this year were enlightening. (more…)
